One of my embroidered pieces is part of Selvedge Magazine 's Advent calender. I am number 21: Obviously I am not revealing what it is until the 21st,....the excitement! It will be on display in their shop in Archway until January.
Tidying up my room last night I found this sketchbook from the summer;
I took it to the British Museum in August and sat in the "North America" Wing for a few hours, drawing away peacefully. Later I used the drawings for a commissioned project for jersey prints. A lot of 19th century Native American art (especially pottery) has a very contemporary feel to it, very graphic and sometimes even humorous.
Supermarket Sarah is launching a Christmas market and I am selling a little range of printed and drawn objects, it all will be available online next month and is on sale at Poke in Shoreditch (from 1st December).
Other artists who participate with their own wallspace include my dear friends and fellow Germans Rina Donnersmarck and Lynn Hatzius. Look at their work, it is lovely.
Some of my things are featured on Supermarket Sarah, a really original and nice online shop. Sarah has been doing it for a couple of months now and her walls are always fun and inspiring. I bought a framed embroidery last month, it shall soon have a place on the wall of my bathroom.
