the last couple of days i have been setting up my piece in Milan for the Rca Paradise exhibition.
finally last night i had to come to accept that the mechanics of it will not work for now,
it will be part of the show as an aesthetic/ conceptual piece,-static and not moving.
i had a lot of kind help and a lot of thought going into the making of the inside, so even if the gears and belts are not moving the rods, i still wanted to show them (the lid of the box is lifted now).

I wake up every once in a while, part the chintzy curtain at the window, and gaze out at the highway rushing by. Raindrops beat against the glass, blurring streetlights alongside the road that stretch off into the distance at identical intervals like they were set down to measure the earth. A new light rushes up close and in an instant fades off behind us. I check my watch and see it's past midnight.
quote from Haruki Murakami, Kafka on the shore
proposal for show:
“Bakersfield” is a weird and wondrous kinetic sculpture inspired by the female body. It is a strange and joyful, brightly coloured object, influenced by the ‘do nothing machine’ created by Eames in 1957 for Alcoa, and Rolly Crump’s ‘Tower of Four Winds’ from the 1964 New York World’s Fair. The image of a woman’s body is split into pieces, sitting on rods mechanically rotating at different speeds using a combination of gears and belts. They only align at a certain point and at one moment in time: paradise.
